Create a view to manage the backlog

Because sprint planning includes evaluating feature points and priorities, before you assign features to a sprint, it's helpful to create a view that supports your planning effort. So let's create a view to make managing the backlog easier. Here, we already have the Sprint Planning Sheet displayed. We're going to use this as the basis for our new view. Head to the Task tab then click the bottom half of the Gantt Chart button, and on the drop-down menu, choose Save View. That opens up the little Save View dialog box so we can name our new view. Start with C- because it's a custom view, and we'll call it C-Backlog and click Okay. You'll notice over on the left side, the view now says C-Backlog, so we know that we're looking at our custom view. Also, Project creates a custom table for the view with the same name. This table already has points, the priorities for the features, and the Sprint field. The next step, in our view, is to group by sprint. And that's really easy. Head to the View…
