Create a points and velocity report
With the custom fields we created to track points and velocity, you can create a custom graphical report to show actual sprint velocity to compare to your target sprint velocity. On the ribbon, click the Report tab, then click New Report and choose Chart. We'll name this C-Velocity. Type that in and click Okay. Project adds a clustered column chart and it opens up the field list on the right. If you don't see the field list, just click the chart and it will appear. Now the first thing we're going to do is turn off the work. So now we've removed all the fields that were in there. And now we're going to add the field that we want. So click the right-pointing arrow to expand the Number section. And then click to expand custom and turn on the checkbox for C-Velocity. Velocity represents the feature points completed in Sprints. Next, go down below and click the arrow for Group By and choose Sprint so that we are now grouping by Sprint. The outline level is set to Level 1, which is what we…
