What is multicriteria analysis?

Multi-criteria analysis in GIS is where you take multiple criteria or multiple questions you want to ask, and combine them all to figure out where and what you want to find. For example, I want to find a house that's close to a school, it's close to a highway, and it's in a residential zone. To get all that information, I need to create a multi-criteria analysis. And that analysis requires me to have data in the right format. Now these are all vector files. So if you zoom in you could pick on individual vectors. You can see there that red is a school. And I can pick on all sorts of items and get details. For example, I can pick on that and you can see that's Residential Three And Four Units and there's even houses underneath it. So if I pick on parcels I can pick on a parcel and you can see what address it is and so on. And you see these red highways. Now these are all vectors.
