Proximity analysis with highways

Proximity analysis with highways

Next we're going to do a proximity analysis on our highways in Nanaimo. I'm going to open the OpenStreetMap to give us some context. Zoom into Nanaimo, first of all. Then I'm going to go into our Multicriteria_Analysis folder and bring in the highways that we created earlier. And basically they're just black highways. If I turn off the OpenStreetMap you can see them. And what we're going to do is we're going to do proximity. So we'll go into the processing toolbox, type "proximity", Raster Distance, and double-click on that. And so for the highways we're going to do this analysis. And we don't need to put pixel values in there. The distance will be due reference. So it's going to be in meters. So how far do we want to go maximum? I think we should set it to about 2500. So 2.5km starting at 0. The null value I'm going to clear that, so it says not set. We'll scroll down. The Profile I'm going to choose is, I'm going to say No Compression. So it's faster. And then we're going to save it…
