Sharing resources across projects with a resource pool
- [Instructor] What if you don't have Project Online to manage all your projects, but you still want to track resource workloads across a few projects? You can do that by storing your resources in a resource pool, in the desktop edition of Project. If one of your project files has information about your shared resources, you can use that file to create your resource pool. So here I have a project schedule that has resources in it. If I click the bottom half of the Gantt chart button and then click resource sheet, I can see all of the resources, these are the ones that I want to share. The easiest way to create the pool is to save this file with another name and delete all the tasks in the new file. Click file and then click save as. I'm going to go to the desktop, to my exercise files folder, I'll save it in chapter seven. Let's call it Resource Pool and click save. Well, now I have my resource pool file. However, if I…
