- [Instructor] When assignments need a complete overhaul, maybe different people working different hours, and for a different duration, first, decide what the assignments should look like before you start changing things. You'll make your changes faster and impress your colleagues. We're going to start with the task 63, full system test. So we'll scroll down and find that task and click it so we can see it in the task form. Let's start with the goals for changing the assignments. We want to shorten the task duration from 10 days to about six days and we want to add the network tech and the system admin at halftime so they get familiar with the system. Before we get started, here's a tip. Don't click okay until you make all your changes. Okay, we're going to start by adding the two new resources. In the first blank row, I'm going to click the resource name cell and I'm going to find the network tech. Then in the next row, I'm going to add the system admin. Now go to the unit cells and put in 50% for each of those. We've made the changes that we want so let's go ahead and click okay. The duration changes to 6.67 days which is pretty close to what we want, so we'll keep that. Let's take a look at the hours. Project recalculated the work to shift work hours from the subcontractor's resources to the ones that we added. And because the subcontractor resources were at 100% and the network tech and system admin are at 50% those two resources have half the hours that the subcontractors' people have. The key to changing multiple parameters is making all the changes in the task form before clicking okay. For practice, take a moment now to edit Task 73 document procedures. Let's take a look at that. Change the network tech to the network admin, and change the hours for the network and system admins both to 12 hours.
