From the course: Advanced Microsoft Fabric Implementation and Governance

Walkthrough of course resources

- [Instructor] We will be using the Worldwide Importers public data set in this course. You'll need to download the items in the course resource folder to your local PC. The files are Parquet files and they will need to be downloaded prior to starting the videos. Inside of the resource folder, you'll also find some sample Power BI files used in this course. The data has been included for the Power BI files as well. If you want to look at the data, change the parameter in Power BI to point to the location of data files on your computer. From inside of Microsoft Fabric, make sure to switch to the data engineering using the workload switcher icon in the lower left hand corner. Go ahead and select Workspaces and create a new workspace. Call the new workspace Advanced Fabric. Feel free to add an icon in the workspace image if you like. We'll also need to make sure that this is set to our trial capacity because we do need to make sure that we have capacity when doing this course. I'll go ahead and say Apply. Inside a Fabric, we're going to create a new lakehouse and I'm going to call this lakehouse WWI for Worldwide Importers and say Create. Going to want to add files. So I'm going to go to the files area and select Upload and upload files. Now my data is located in my resources folder. And I'm going to add all of the Parquet files. I'm going to upload these two and then get the rest. So I'll want these five files. And then go ahead and close this button and they will be available here. They'll now ready to be used for our exercises.
