Using event parameters effectively in GA4
- One of the most useful features in GA4 is the ability to include multiple parameters with events. Of course, just because you can add a lot of parameters to your events, that doesn't mean you should add a lot of parameters to your events. Many default events in GA4 already have parameters built in, and you can view a list of these events and their parameters here on Google's websites. Another resource that I use quite a lot when I need to look at parameters, is data.ga4spy.com, and then you'll click on the Event Parameter menu option right here. And it has a list of recommended events and automatic events, and then you can click on any of these to view all the parameters that will be captured with a recommended or an automatic event. Reviewing these automatically collected parameters can give you a good idea of what kinds of parameters you may want to use with your events.
