Creating and modifying events in GA4
- While there are quite a few very useful built-in events in GA4, sometimes they don't work for your specific situation, or you need to add your own events to capture more information. I recommend using Google Tag Manager to send new events to GA4. If you aren't familiar with Google Tag Manager, please check out the course, Learning Google Tag Manager, right here on LinkedIn Learning. If you do end up using Google Tag Manager to send events off to GA4, the first thing you should check before you do so is check Google's list of recommended events and see if there is a recommended event name for what you want to capture. Each event on this recommended list also can include a list of recommended parameters to send along with that event. For example, here is the share event.
