Sorting table data
- [Instructor] A common task with any table of data is to sort the contents to bring relevant records up to the top. On the Home tab of the ribbon, in the Sort and Filter group, we have a couple of buttons that'll do exactly that. Right now, I have the customer's table open, and our records are in the order that they were put into the database, with the first record for Customer ID Number 1 at the top, and Customer ID 2,123 way down at the bottom. I can sort these records based on any field that I choose. To put them alphabetically by last name, you can click in any cell in the LastName column or select the header at the very top to select the entire column. Then come up to the Sort and Filter group and click either ascending or descending to put them in alphabetical sequence. Notice the tiny arrow that appears here in the header. This is your visual indication that the table is currently sorted based on this field. I can then click the Remove Sort button and it'll put the data back…
