I`ll post an update(w/pics) soon when I hit the 3-4 month mark. There is no bit of difference from day 1 to now. This product is incredible and I anticipate it will remain for a very long time. Time will tell.......

I don`t know a lot about this product, but Dr. G brought it up in chat last night. Can OC be marred easily by improper washing? Is it basically an epoxy like protective coating?

    Again, thanks for the updates!

I can`t say for sure, because I`m a very careful washer Stop, but I`ve had atleast a dozen people wipe/rub their hands all over the coated section that was filty and there`s ZERO marring. My guess is that it`s a very hard layer and is scratch resistant. The section of glass that I applied a large round blob to is super hard and it`s almost glued on to the surface. It`s like applying an epoxy type layer of clear glass over the surface. You can still see the cut off points in the textured plastic trim sections. Amazing stuff.

With that said, assuming I have an older vehicle, hypothetically would the OC be able to "fill" hairline scratches in the glass as well as protect it? Not so much as a filler, but it seems like the perfect glass protector, even from small chips.

    6 MONTH UPDATE

Well the 6 month mark has snuck up quickly and this product is outperforming my expectations by a mile!! I?ve been religiously washing my car with a weekly dose of Dawn dish soap as well as monthly trips to the Touchless Automatic and I can honestly say this product?s durability has gone unchanged from the day I 1st applied it. I?ve closely watched it?s characteristics on a regular basis under several environments and it is truly an amazing product. In all my years (decades) of car care, I have never seen another product or concept defy mainstream and unconventional properties like this product. It?s nothing like I originally thought it would be to say the least. In laymen?s terms; it?s basically like applying an additional layer of clearcoat that constantly beads water. In addition to this, it?s cleaning power and scratch resistancy is unparelled to any other. I look forward to continued testing and at this point have confidence that this product will most likely outlast my companionship with this vehicle (approximately 2 years). I?ll be updating this thread as needed and will be testing this coating against other mainstream sealants to compare their durability in regards to my wash methods employed.

Remember: Entire Driver?s side of vehicle has been coated (glass/paint/trim/wheels)

Basic shots of morning dew (surface is dirty too):

    Rinsed off:

I took a trip across the state a few weeks ago and got slammed with Love Bugs! Here?s the results of the cleaning power this product has on bug guts that were left on for about 2 weeks.

I used the wipers and as you can see the coated side (driver) easily sheds the debris. The passenger doesn?t:

    Uncoated/Bare (passenger):

    Coated (driver):

I then used my pressure washer(~1500 psi) to pre-blast the bugs off the finish prior to hand washing:

Observe the beading strength on the coating:

After the initial bug blasting, I used a leaf blower to dry the front end (didn?t want to wipe a towel across the still dirty paint):

Here?s the results documenting the cleaning ability of this product after 6 months on a surface:

    Coated:

    Uncoated:

    Additional Comparison:

    Dave,

That was an AMAZING review. This product looks like a real keeper. That is some unbelievable protection.

Any idea when this will be available to the masses?

Thanks for doing this for all of us to see.:notworthy:

    Where can I buy this?

I would love to apply this to my fiancees car!

Great follow up David! This is by far the best product review I`ve ever seen conducted.

Can you comment on any difference in the amount bonded surface contaminants that have accumulated between the two sides? I know you washed often so it may not be much, if any, but it`s the one thing I always notice with other sealants that are said to last 6+ months...the paint may still bead water but if the vehicle was not washed often, it ends up feeling like sand paper.

    Thanks,

    It won`t be.

I have seen this product in person (on David` car) at just before the 6 month mark and the difference between the sides of the car had us literally laughing (myself, David, and Eddy Fiuza). We must have sprayed the car for 20 minutes with a pressure washer and couldn`t get over how the coated side was beading and sheeting water.

The funniest thing I have seen was David`s car in the rain. Exactly one half of the car beads like a crazy, right down the middle. I`m sure he gets some weird looks. :Boxing:
