I`m finally getting around to posting the results of the start of my traditional wax season.

    The essentials:

Subject: `02 Camaro SS/71U Red Parrot (Sunset Orange Metallic) Base/Clear

Wash: Mother`s California Gold Car Wash

    Clay: Zaino Z-18

    Polish Team: Sonus SFX 2, 3, Paintwork Cleanser;

Sonus SFX Polish and Finishing pads; Sonus` Swirlbuster orange pad

PC w/ varied speeds from 2-4; 5-6 (hard time with pads not adhering to backing plate at 6...will give benefit of the doubt to 1 year old backing plate)

    Clean-up: Sonus Acrylic Spritz

    Neutral Glaze: Sonus Acrylic Glanz

    LSP: EGZymol Vintage

No Wheels or interior. Wheels were done approx. 2 weeks prior to detail with Blue Magic Polish

    Tires: Black Magic Gel

The start: Hated taking down last year`s Zymol accumulation; But what can you do? Its either the right way or not at all.

Initial results after polish phase, clean-up, glaze, and one round of Vintage

    Its been a long winter.....

    Another setting and lighting...

    Last one....

So far I think we`re off to a good start. Although in general IMO the Zymol took to the polishes satisfactory, the wax isn`t quite finished yet. At the beginning stages, I like to see how the paint color and the wax communicates. Another session or two with the Zymol may actually bring the finish to an optimal level.

    Happy waxing and lsp-ing everyone!

Impressive! I`ve been considering buying a tub of Vintage for my business and your results are definitely pushing me towards that.

Thanks all for the kind words of encouragement. So far I`ve been using Vintaaaagghe for a year. I have been amazed at the performance of all of the EGZymols up to this point. I want to emphasize that perhaps aside from the depth (which IMO is a zymol strength) at the beginning stages I was especially tuned to the color play between the prepped paint and this wax. To add, I was careful with adding additional layers last year, because I wanted the wax to stay on awhile at the lower layers just to observe how the color translates, as well as seeing how Vintage matures. It pays off in dividends to take your time with Vintage and the other Zymols.

The last of the real camaro`s. I have seen a few 01 and 02 SS camaro`s around my area a few times and I`d do anything to own one.

What a lovely colour. If I get a third car, I`m painting it sunset orange. Drool

    Superb work mate.
Car care/detailing sadly isn`t high on the agenda for 98% of australians.
