Re: BLACKFIRE Total Polish N Seal - BRAND NEW PRODUCT

I`ve had a chance to use Total Polish N Seal twice now. A few observations, and maybe a question or two. I used it both times as a prep/base for Wet Diamond. I found it very easy to use (with a fresh pad). I changed pads when the product no longer disappeared when polishing. Leaving a bit of product behind was not an issue, as it is very easy to remove, (very similar to Wet Diamond). The look left by TPNS is very clean, similar in my opinion to the look of Klasse or Werkstatt.

I used TPNS as a base for Wet Diamond. Not a Wet Diamond thread, but I must say, I forgot what I was missing for a few years.....I have been using Powerlock and a few other sealants. I remember WD being easier to use but it certainly isn`t a challenging product. And NOTHING I used in the last few years compares to the look of my car RIGHT NOW. Very warm wet look, and the slickness is ridiculous. I am going to follow up tomorrow with another application.

Todd if you are reading this, how many honda civic sized cars should I expect to clean with a bottle of TPNS? I am concerned I may be using too much product. When moving to a new section, is it necessary to add the same amount of product as the first application?
I hear voices in my mind and youre worried that youre the freak.

also what`s the cure time if you want to top it?

Used it again today with my 3403 slow/green pad and got AMAZING results - my new AIO.......
Cure time, particularly if you work it in until just a light film remains, is near-instantaneous. If you want to extra careful you can wait 1 to 2 hours with no problems.

The amount of polish you use depends on how much cleaning action you are looking for. If you are just doing a quick clean up then use a couple drops and spread over a larger area. If you really looking to clean the paint, shrink your working area down and work in overlapping passes.

I would say that anything more than 1 ounce would be considerable. Also, take a terry towel and run it against the pad. You should be able to clean the pad well enough to continue working with out swapping to a fresh one.

Todd are you saying you can do an entire care with one ounce?

I`m saying in most cases I have been able to get 1 car per ounce easily.

I used BFTPNS for the first time today, I used it on my C5 Z06 (Torch Red).

The issue i had was marring , I was using my Porter Cable XP set on 5 with a LC CCS 5.5" White pad, firm constant pressure.

Then i switched to a LC CCS 5.5" Orange pad to see if that made things better or worse. I did not notice much difference in the amount of marring.

I got frustrated and did an IPA then switched to Meg M205 and polished the marring marks out.

    ( Note: ) I had previously corrected the paint to i would say 90% with Meg M105 /M205 .

I have a Red, 2007 Dodge Ram P.U. lined up to do a AIO with the TPNS and look forward to getting it ironed out.

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Very glad to hear Glen. I think the secret with TPnS is to make sure it is broken down by turning almost completely clear. It will appear to melt into the paint.

How much durability can I get out of this polish? Car kept indoors from 8 to 6 mon to fri... I plan to upkeep the the poly spray and ONR. After I apply the TPnS I plan to apply a coat of the crystal seal too.

I don`t like giving durability quotes because they can vary wildly from environment to environment, paint to paint, and the way it is maintained. As a stand alone product, I have witnessed between 2 to 4 months, and have testers who have have gotten almost 5 months out of it. This is with no upkeep.

Since Crystal Seal is SO easy to apply and takes so little time, applying it every month to two months will extend the durability almost indefinitely.
