Position Title: Employment Engagement Specialist

Department: Employment

Worksite Location: Owen Sound, Ontario with regular travel through Grey and Bruce counties.

Position Type: Permanent full-time Category: #1

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Days; Monday – Friday

Salary: $26.18 - $29.76 per hour. Wages commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to establish rapport and provide compassionate and strength-focused services
  • Provide services in a manner that is consistent with the values outlined in the program guidelines, including: hope; client centered; inclusive and accessible; collaboration; and accountability
  • Work with people to assess needs that should include but not be restricted to: life stabilization, career development, literacy and basic skills training, job retention requirements, specialized supports, and disability accommodation
  • Work with community partners and local agencies to provide comprehensive client-centred case management to remove barriers from employment
  • Provide 1-year of Job Retention support

  • Works independently with minimal supervision and is disciplined in setting priorities and outcomes.
  • Minimum Class G Driver’s License; able to travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties; must have own vehicle.
