After months of anticipation, our Polin-loving hearts are FINALLY being treated to Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington’s romance in Bridgerton season three. But who is Luke Newton’s girlfriend in real life?
Woohoo! Fans are once again back in the ‘ton with another tale from the Bridgerton family, and this time it’s all about friends-to-lovers. Luke and Nicola Coughlan play Colin and Penelope, who start to see their relationship in a new light after two seasons of being close companions.
While we wait for season three part two to drop on the streaming platform (yes we’ve already binge-watched part one, so what?), we’re keen to look into Luke’s real life relationship history. Who has the 31-year-old from Brighton dated?
Luke Newton’s dating history
Sophie Simnett, 2016 – 2018
Prior to landing the role of Colin in Bridgerton, Luke was actually part of the Disney UK clan, starring in a TV series called The Lodge in 2016 to 2017. It’s here that he met girlfriend Sophie Simnett, who also starred in the show, and while the pair were never asked to comment on their relationship at the time, they were photographed in a number of cosy photos together.
Jade Davies, 2019 – 2023
Then, in 2019, Luke reportedly started dating Welsh actress Jade Louise Davies, who works on the West End and is currently touring the UK with Wicked.
The pair were in a number of Instagram pics together over the years, with Luke telling PopSugar in 2021 that Jade had taken him to Amsterdam for Christmas, creating a scrapbook of memories of them as a present.
He said at the time, “She’s got an amazing memory, much better than mine, so it’s kind of nice to me to look back and go, ‘Oh, that’s what we were doing that day,’ rather than just remembering the photo.”
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be – in March 2023, a source told The Sun the couple had split, with an insider commenting, “Luke and Jade drifted apart as they could not find time in their busy schedules to invest in their relationship.”
The pair then deleted all traces of each other from their Instagrams, and since then, Jade has started dating someone else called Morgan Gregory.
Antonia Roumelioti, January 2024
Rumour has it Luke started dating 23-year-old model and dancer Antonia in January, after they were spotted together in LA on holiday. The pair were seen sunbathing by Griffith Observatory while on a hike, with a source telling The Mirror, “Luke and Antonia get on really well and are having a great time together.
“They have not yet gone public as it is still early days, but they have grown very close and of course all their friends and family know. They are thrilled to see them both so happy. And Antonia has been supporting Luke as he deals with the global attention that the latest series has attracted.”
While neither Antonia or Luke have posed together, they have shared a series of photos from similar locations on Instagram, and are also confirmed to be following each other on the platform. That’s always a tell-tale sign, isn’t it?
